Digital Stories Presented to Comer Elementary

Education and communication students at Emmanuel College in Georgia teamed up to create video storybooks for local elementary students as part of a joint service-learning project. The seven stories were written and created by seven education students and fourteen communication students, and the Comer Elementary media specialist arranged the presentation.

"Service learning is a great strategy to use with students of all ages," says Dr. Vicki Hollinshead, Dean of the School of Education at Emmanuel. "It empowers students by showing them how they can make a positive difference by meeting a real need in their community while at the same time being actively engaged in the learning process."
