For this year’s MLK Day of Service, approximately 200 Northern Virginia (NOVA) Community College students, faculty and staff took the day on and helped those in need. Over 300 school supply kits, including donated items such as pencils, erasers, and notebook paper, were put together to be sent to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan who will then distribute the supplies to school children in need. The school supply drive was a cooperative effort by NOVA, the Corporation for National and Community Service, and Operation International Children.

Faculty, students and community members organize in an assembly line and put together school supply kits to be sent to children in Iraq and Afghanistan.
