Faith-based service-learning involves community religiously-based organizations as partners, or educational institutions where religious faith is pre-eminent. President George W. Bush's Faith-Based and Community Initiative, which aims to allow faith-based and community organizations to compete equally with government agencies for federal dollars, affects faith-based service-learning programs by providing exposure to federal funding opportunities and support.
