Thorne Bay School Project to help tsumani
victims
"Thorne Bay School in Thorne Bay, Alaska has started a project to
raise money and awareness for the people effected by the tsumani in
Asia. Thorne Bay School is divided up into 7 Advisee groups. These
Advisee groups incorporate all 90 of our 4-18 year old students.
Each Advisee is researching a relief foundation that is currently
helping with the tsunami disaster. Each Advisee will create a
persuasive poster to hang at a Mystery Dinner Theatre that will be
organized for our community on February 12, 2005. Participants at
the dinner will vote on the most persuasive poster to help us
decide which organization to which we will send our donation.
Students will be selling tickets to members of our community to
attend the dinner and Mystery Theatre presentation. Thorne Bay
School students will also be doing all of the organization for the
dinner: advertising, newspaper articles, set-up, decoration, menu
planning and shopping, clean-up, etc. We are a small school, but we
work together to help when we can!"
