Five Star Service for Five Star People
Our sophomore seminar group focuses on the homeless and hunger problem, so we chose to pack lunch bags and go to the Inspiration Cafe located in Uptown on Chicago's north side. Our mission of the seminar project is to feed the homeless people and people suffering from hunger.
Two of our group members went to serve homeless people breakfast at the Inspiration Cafe. They started working there around 7 a.m. The other people in our group packed lunch bags for the homeless people in our school cafeteria. After all the packing process was done, we delivered the bags to people who need help. When we were doing the packing, we realized that we could do a lot of small and easy things to contribute to solve the homelessness and hunger problem. By doing such small things, we can help more homeless people in the future.
Our group enjoyed helping to address homelessness in the area. In the future we plan to continue to help out with PADS, Inspiration Cafe, and other groups and food banks in the area. We also want to help out in little ways, by not wasting food and asking that of others. Homelessness is a large problem that many people face, so if we can help out in any way, we would be more than happy to do so.
