Service-Learning VIP: Wade

 

Wade H. volunteered with his family at the Homeless Garden Project in Santa Cruz on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The focus of the project was working with the many stages of compost on the large garden site, moving piles, and creating new piles of materials in different stages of decomposition. Wade helped sift the compost that was almost ready to be applied to the plants. He had a blast with the other kids, felt useful, and learned about compost.
